Editorial Standards

Authorship & Attribution

Articles on ICMD are published under the ICMD Editorial byline. We do not attribute articles to individual named authors, and we never invent authors, credentials, or personal anecdotes. If a byline ever names a person, that person is real, consented, and verifiable.

How Content Is Produced

ICMD is produced by a small team using an AI-assisted editorial pipeline. In plain terms:

1. AI-assisted drafting — Articles are researched and drafted with the help of large language models, working from a fixed set of editorial rules.
2. Automated quality checks — Every draft is scanned for banned filler phrasing, fabricated statistics, and unsupported claims before it can be published.
3. Source linking — When an article cites documentation, data, or benchmarks, it links to the primary source so readers can verify claims directly.
4. Publication — Articles carry clear publication dates, category classification, and the ICMD Editorial byline.

We disclose this openly because we would rather earn trust with transparency than with an invented masthead. Content produced this way has limits — see Accuracy & Corrections below, and please tell us when we get something wrong.

Accuracy & Corrections

We take accuracy seriously. If we publish an error — factual, technical, or otherwise — we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted at the top of the affected article with a clear description of what was changed and when. We do not silently edit published articles to remove errors.

If you identify an error in any ICMD article, please email corrections@icmd.app with the article URL and a description of the issue. We investigate all reported errors and respond within 48 hours.

Independence & Disclosure

ICMD currently carries no advertising or sponsored content. If that changes, sponsored material will be clearly labeled. Our editorial decisions — what topics to cover and what to recommend — are made based on relevance and usefulness to readers, not commercial relationships.

Content Principles

• Receipts over takes — We prefer working code, reproducible steps, and linked primary sources over opinions. If we can't show it or cite it, we cut it.
• No invented evidence — We do not fabricate statistics, benchmarks, case studies, quotes, or personal experience. Claims we cannot verify are removed before publication.
• Actionable over abstract — Every article should give the reader something they can apply — a working example, a checklist, a decision process, or a specific recommendation.
• Honest about trade-offs — When we recommend a technology, strategy, or approach, we discuss its limitations and alternatives.
• Disclosed AI assistance — Our articles are produced with AI-assisted research and drafting, and we say so plainly here and on our About page. We do not pass AI-generated content off as the first-person experience of invented human experts.

Updates & Freshness

Technology evolves rapidly, and articles can become outdated. We periodically review our most-read articles to ensure their recommendations remain current. When we update an article significantly, we note the update date and summarize what changed. Articles that are no longer accurate and cannot be updated are clearly marked as outdated.
